Eliana Stanford

As an interested student, I have developed important teaching skills, which gave me the confidence to expand my passion for helping my peers to other students. As a primarily STEAM oriented individual, I find myself particularly drawn to math, sciences like biology and chemistry and graphic design. I apply these skills in order to develop my projects, may it be in the school robotics team or the pre-med platform I developed called pre-medconnection.com. With this platform, I have learned the importance of encouraging students to combine their passions and have the confidence to pursue interest driven projects.

Kasey Afshani

As a student who began in an environment in which my individual needs weren’t met, I’ve had to figure out how to answer my educational inquisitions on my own. I’ve been particularly interested in debate, writing, and biomedical research, so I involve myself in these activities outside of the classroom as co-president of JSA (Junior State of America), the profiles editor for “The Student Voice,” and through my independent research project. These activities have allowed me to gain the discipline necessary to teach myself and others through a process of trial and error. I have grown and become confident that I can help students find the best way for them to learn.

Reviews

“Patient, supportive, passionate, and thoughtful. These are the words that I would use to describe Kasey’s teaching style. She’s very patient, she will take her time with whoever she’s teaching to make sure that they understand something and make sure that they understand it. She won’t give up on you.” - Sarah Sverdlov

““From the couple algebra ii problems that Eliana explained to me, I would describe her as knowledgable, kind, and supportive.” - Sarah Sverdlov

“No matter how little I know about it, Kasey seems undaunted by the amount of content that she would have to go through to catch me up. I could be like ‘I have no idea what to do about this’ and it doesn’t matter. If it’s one thing or a thousand, she’ll get through all of them.” - Tyler Holland
